From Réunion Maya Kamaty‘s new album, Pandiyé is rich and not to be missed. Flash.
With this new album, Maya Kamaty confirms her ability to reinvent music genres, notably by working a Maloya with roulèr, a flagship instrument of this traditional Réunion music genre, with hip-hop, Dubstep, folk, pop and everything that comes into her musical universe. Diampar is probably one of the closest pieces to what the traditional Maloya is. And then there’s Diya, nice gentle ballade, and Pandiyé, and Kaniki, and Dark River, the only title in English, and Trakasé, all very rich and unique that make our heads spin. With this album, we get natural flavours, light and eclectic. There is enough to be discovered.
