FLASH : GIANT ROOKS / TERRENOIRE / LA CARAVANE PASSE

Today marks the beginning of a new music season, and with the number of releases raining on us, we got three very different atmospheres out. Friend, get ready. Flashes.

ROOKERY – GIANT ROOKS

GIANT ROOKS_ARTWORK_ROOKERYGerman band Giant Rooks has just released ROOKERY, a welcomed album whilst we get to the end of summer. With epic tracks such as the excellent Watershed, the band has done well to get visible and has had the opportunity to exist to some more experimental songs such as Into Your Arms which ends the LP in seven minutes. With others (Very Soon You’ll See, Wild Stare) it’s their catchy and dancing side that put under the spotlight. Overall, it’s an inspiring album that really cheered us up when we first discovered it.

LES FORCES CONTRAIRES – TERRENOIRE

COVERLESFORCESCONTRAIRESThe musical background is made of electronic bubbles floating into a vaporous and dark universe. And then there are the lyrics, and the title Les Forces Contraires (opposite forces) makes complete sense. This is Terrenoire’s debut album. Located right at the crossroad between brightness and darkness, we get some positive (Ça va aller, Là où elle est) and negative (La fin du monde) and often both get together, mix and borders get blurry. A lyrical curiosity.

NOMADIC SPIRIT – LA CARAVANE PASSE

LaCaravanePasse-NomadicSpirit-visuelRVBIf it’s still rather complicated for us to travel, we get a beautiful alternative through La Caravane Passe’s new album, Nomadic Spirit. It has the hook we expected and, quickly, we get excited and jump at the back of their caravan, ready to bivouac happily with them and their thousands of stories. The nomadic spirit overwhelms us and yet we embrace it. The stories need to be sung around a small campfire, along with manouche’s waltz and the wish for good things. A genuine joy.
