Just about to get a sun and melted chocolate bath, we’re adding into the mix just over an hour of music, enjoying three new records released today. Three new favourites. Flashes.
HALF DRUNK UNDER A FULL MOON – THE FRATELLIS
For this fourth album, The Fratellis keep a smile under almost any circumstances with a tender rock, often folk (The Last Songbird), also nostalgic (Hello Stranger, Strangers in the Street), but epic too like in the middle of the opening track, giving its name to the album, Half Drunk Under a Full Moon. Playing with a form of recklessness (Living in the Dark) and a lot of energy, we can say that the Scottish band delivers, as expected, with round guitars and a dancing tone. A record that, oddly, goes well with the sun.

E.1. – APPLE SHAKERS
Debut EP by British band Apple Shakers is a massive new favourite of ours. A small slap behind the head, that the effect E.1. has on us just with its intro, Walking. The guitars are sharps and the London pavement is going to feel it, stomped by bangers. A punk heart, a rock spirit, sometimes a touch of ska, they’ve got a proud attitude (I Need Something) and we can only get impatient to see what they can do on stage, once reopened, has that’s they produce in a studio. The bar is set high, no doubt. Now, unleash the beasts!

THE ITCHY EYES EP – HOSPITAL CORNER
If The Itchy Eyes EP, debut EP by Scottish musician Hospital Corner, can feel unperfect with the intro of Dreamless Sleep, it is still full of charm and passion. A lot of passion. Soft, tender, we fall for the whole EP in less than a complete listen of twenty minutes, thanks to, mostly, its bubbly energy, a clear voice, although sometimes a bit far in the first track mix, and to the track Something Has To Be Done, a perfect drive for when things are moving around. The perfectible is sensible and ought to be listened to now.
