Whilst I’m trying to organize a little surprise for Monday, it is now time to come back to the ritual of the week and listen to a playlist gathering some great tunes.
It starts with the rebel energy of the young band Fan Club and their tune No Caller ID – the kind of calls we all despise, but the kind of song it’s easy to spin twice in a row. Just to keep it all clear, Ina-Ich follows with Serpent, with just enough venom to create an anti-poison, useful against toxic relationships. And with a banger bass line. I love it.
Still in the theme of ‘warnings’, it is then Desmerelda that gives the advice to Never Tickle a Tiger. Just, don’t do it with a tiger. But do listen to their sharp riffs, they’re excellent. Mx. Manhattan changes the atmosphere with Chain, all in crescendo and mystical bits. Honeyfang starts Do It Again Grrl with an epic intro before coming back to a modern and swaying its way into the playlist this week.
And after that chill break, Maudlin Strangers are getting earwormy with the catchy pop-rock chorus of I’m Not In The Right Mind. Danny Mellin then proposes a serious-but-actually-not-that-serious-rock with the so-Brit Give You My Time. In need of a disco-death-rock? Sick Ride has your back with the sexy OVER & OUT. And I’ll take a second shot of energy with I Say Domino by Liam Galbraith – gloriously catchy. This week, closing the playlist, is Flowtone in all their beauty and guitars with Eats Me Alive.
