It’s a defining record, between a tribute and a demand letter, that Squirrel Flower has released this year: Tomorrow’s Fire. Review.
TOMORROW’S FIRE – SQUIRREL FLOWER
Inspired by great names like Springsteen and Tom Waits, Squirrel Flower doesn’t seal herself into sounds from another decade. With her supple and clear voice, she talks to and of her generation, with beautiful tracks with chiaroscuro narrative like Alley Light, or more serious about climate change like Finally Rain.
In the middle of it, a flash of hope, the electric Intheskatepark. Overall, Tomorrow’s Fire has depth, and yet it’s chill, and it’s shaping emotions shared by many.
Now Playing: Finally Rain
