It’s the penultimate playlist of the week this year. Without getting into a full review, 2023 has been… interesting. So, before we all jump into festivities, here’s your dose of energy.
Let’s keep that promise from the start as the playlist of the week opens with the crazy tracks, I Am The Dragon by The Lookout Service and Angry Song by Rocket Bunny. These two are made to empty our minds. Next, it’s AMYRA’s softness and fears that come up on Terrified. The vocals are impressive, the atmosphere goes between soul and alt-rock, it’s beautiful, it’s personal. In the same idea arrives Nathan Brown with the super catchy SUPERSTAR.
Let’s stay on heavy beats and catchy tunes as we get to discover Sadney’s vocals on Last. Impossible to let it go. Then, let’s get back to a classic kind of rock, but oh-so efficient, with Every Day Has New Rules by Statue Kings. Strong riffs walk along the enchanting vocals by Brazilian singer Lara Aufranc on her track Je Veux Déborder. This sweet track is followed by Annadale’s bewitching and colourful Midwest Goodbye.
Swiss band The Clive is back on the blog with Renegades, adding small blues notes to their tender yet sharp rock. The Ritz follow them with the dynamic Give Me A Sign. Last, but not least, it’s Like Foxes in Bloom that closes it all through the optimism of Wavesick. It does have a smiling soul, ideal for the festivities. See you all next Friday for the last playlist of the week of 2023!
