It’s time to hit the playlist of the week again, ‘cause even during our holidays, we passionately curate it for you. This one is pretty varied too!
The Oral Cigarettes are back at creating new bangers. This time, they’re inviting Masato, the voice of coldrain, to join them. DUNK is our playlist of the week’s opening and does it with style. But they’re not the only ones using the power-riffs-catchy-melody combo. More old-school but as charming are We Three Kings, coming up with Get Back. That chorus is pretty contagious! The energetic contamination doesn’t stop here, either. Up next is Marshal and The Hats, ready to shake it up with a soft intro and a punk-ska style on the efficient Here We Go Again. Then, it’s up to Laurenicole to turn up the volume with the explosive What’s Next?, quite promising for the artist.
With a more progressive style, between softness, and torn sounds of former passionate love stories, Lia Sky proposes Good Parts. Later, it’s a different passion that awakes within Tasteful Thief, one for rock’n’roll. The band makes it known through the saturated and bright RnR. Following them is Mechanical Bull by KOYO. The track’s allure is mystical, more worrisome, and almost experimental towards the end of the track, and overall carried by incredible vocals! After so many strong textures, it’s time for a kinder type of rock, a bit more blues too, with the collaboration of The Peawees and The Detroit Cobras for You’ll Never Be Mine Again. Its romantic broken heart is incredibly moving.
Borderline, Adult Leisure’s new single, follows suit beautifully. There is something summery in it that soothes the band’s rebellious spirit without ever diminishing it, and it has a great balance. For Cherry i too there is something pretty summery to it, but also sensual, mysterious and worrying in her track Fragile Man. She is divine and in control. Tristan Brooks is in charge of getting waves back to us, with the tender and nostalgic Wait for Me to Grow. The playlist of the week is by the seaside at this point, and faster than you’d think! It’s with a particularly delicate song that it does: And Love by Carla Patullo. Vocals and strings are completing each other beautifully in an ethereal atmosphere.
