For her second EP, Real Love, HAPPIE confirms her artistic versatility in folk-pop with gentle lyrics and a unique voice. Review.
REAL LOVE – HAPPIE
In the intimate track Close, the artist reveals a contrasting dreamlike world. The backing vocals give it an ethereal, mystical depth, sharply contrasting with the darker aspects of her composition. Next comes Real Love, where her unique voice invokes an even darker, more brutal universe, yet still rooted in softness. The track quickly stands out thanks to surprising textures. While a more electric version would be exciting to explore, this version has already made this song my favourite of the EP.
After exploring the space between silence and music, HAPPIE continues delving into other sounds. On Easy, they are warmer, with a slightly more pop feel to the chorus. This showcases a new facet of her work and is a great way to engage her audience. Real Love is finely crafted and well-produced, the kind of EP that’s perfect for a break, a pause, between nostalgia and the pure joy of living in the present… so thank you, HAPPIE! It’s promising!
