It’s a playlist with a cathartic tendency that I curated for you this week! Of course, it’s a great way to get your fix of bangers, so grab your headphones!
Let’s open with one of my favourites! Looking for a groovy, biting rock with unique vocals? Great, ‘cause here is Scream by KiNG FOO! It’s cathartic and ravishing! And we’re gonna stay around Monarchs with great anthems like Red Sand King pushing up the tunes with Dangerous. It sets the tone! Next, Six Foot Blonde seems calmer, but looking closer you get that you don’t want to cross that band. Listening to the fun, honest and direct Hard Feelings! is proof enough. It’s not Lear Haven’s blues rock that will calm this week’s playlist, either… There, the band shows off a crazy amount of energy through SOULBREAKER, and it’s pretty contagious!
The Meringues are back this week, with the great tune Royalty. The blend of new wave and post-punk is really fun! It’s followed by Blue Sunday, by The 806, also pretty fun in some ways but darker and infused with blues. Honestly, the video is mad! The vulnerable and filled with the small joys of life atmosphere of Suck Out the Pain offers a great contrast then. That’s how we discover Little Hag and it’s a true emotional slap! And it’s not over, as Juju shoots in next with Swings and Roundabouts, perfect to sort out some buried emotions. Obviously, I love it!
I close the arc of shadows with the delicate Sleep in the Dark by Not In Your Circle. The artist reveals here a dreamlike track, as peaceful as it seems. After that, let’s get sunnier and more pop notes get in! For that, Sputnik the Band proposes Lost Cause Commando with a bubbly and peppy feel. Bonus: the mouth harp is pretty cool! Up next, the Bad Flamingo are back with Parked in the Lot, once again following their own path in the desert, masked and mysterious. Then, Zombie CV, Ilya Popenko’s new folk-rock single, gets as intriguing as sincere, almost chaotic and surprising. It’s, obviously, a great way to close the playlist of the week!
