Here it is! Animals Vol. 2 has started! Tip Stevens lets the serpent into the fold with Mamba, a loaded EP! Review.
MAMBA – TIP STEVENS
Snake with a crazy mad garage rising. Tip Stevens’ new spirit animal doesn’t hide its fangs: Mamba is quick to strike. And it’s not hard to prove with Knock Knock, the first single and opener of this new EP. The track is raw, saturated, powerful, and utterly satisfying. Like the most dangerous snake in the world, Tip Stevens’ sound leaps forward, smashing through doors with this must-hear opening track.
Then comes something simple, fast, and effective: Watch ‘Em All Burn. Just over three minutes of one repeated phrase (“watch ‘em all burn”) paired with dirty, hard-hitting riffs… The message is clear: moshing and headbanging are non-negotiable! But don’t worry—if that one feels a bit… direct for your taste, Tip Stevens switches things up with something more insidious. Mamba slithers across the ground, stealthy and slow, but with an effective rhythm and strikingly hypnotic top notes. Incredibly efficient!
After the initial pain of the bite, followed by the agony we inflict on ourselves by trying to resist, the venom spreads and makes our heads spin. Finally, we accept our fate… and get through it as we keep hope. This is where the EP closes with Rocket. The track is an epic rock piece lasting over five minutes, with a gripping progression, heartfelt lyrics, and masterful technical execution. It may well be one of his most beautiful tracks to date. It’s a superb conclusion to this new EP. Tip Stevens strikes hard with Mamba and continues his road to Olympia, an already deserved milestone scheduled for 7 November 2025.
