It’s the end of the year 2024, already/finally! So, here’s a little rewind of the past twelve months. I’ve also got a few words to share with you…
Before diving into the heart of the matter – my top concerts, albums, and EPs of the year – I wanted to share a few thoughts about blogging and writing about music.
Talking about music is always a fascinating and subjective exercise. The more time passes, the more I notice my tastes evolving. Forever caught between refinement and expansion – because those two ideas are not mutually exclusive – I pick, taste, test, discover, and try to share it all with you through writing, a format I particularly enjoy. All in the hope of passing on a spark of my passion for it all.
2024 hasn’t been an easy year. Far from it. With all its twists and turns – the good and the bad – I came close, several times, to put the blog aside. But the desire to share is too strong, so I keep going. Even though the music industry has been, for far too long and likely will always be, somewhat cruel.
Thank you to those of you who take the time to send me a message, share an article, simply read, or trust me with your artists and your music. Because at the end of the day, that’s what keeps me afloat in the choppy seas of the music industry: knowing that someone, at least one other person somewhere, reads what I write. Thank you.
But enough sentimentality… With I-don’t-know-how-many articles under my belt this year, countless hours of listening, concerts, 52 weekly playlists, and 25 days spent in Japan, here’s a little recap in the form of top lists. Yes, I have several.

WHAT’S TO COME
There’s a lot planned for 2025 – and I can’t wait! A quick rundown: Kenshi Yonezu in Europe, Ado’s second world tour, Tip Stevens at the Olympia, more travelling… And, of course, lots and lots of music. But before diving back in, I’m taking a little break – because I’ve got work on the side too, and this period is a busy one. So, I’ll see you by 6th January at the latest! Cheers!
