PLAYLIST OF THE WEEK 2025 #5

If we haven’t done much in terms of reviews lately, I’m certainly not missing our Friday appointment with this playlist of the week, packed with new releases!

The playlist of the week kicks off with a strong attack through the punchy hug me by snake eyes in collaboration with Pabst. If we all need a little hug, this one is rather explosive! A great way to start, setting the tone with confidence! However, things lighten up next with I Want You (Fever) by Momma – a pop track infused with heavy guitars that feels both romantic and fresh. Baby Said, on the other hand, bring a different story. The duo is back with the powerful of Dead To Me, bringing riffs and altitude as expected. Calva Louise is also in a rather fiery mood with W.T.F., a genre-blending track bursting with infectious energy, exploring themes of turmoil and anxiety. It’s intensely cathartic.

We then move on to some rich basslines and Nxdia’s peculiar and enchanting attitude. They offer a blend of rock and electro with Boy Clothes – a big favourite this week! Leaning even more towards electro, the fantastic Sohodolls show up with their new single My Religion. Sharp in every way, it exudes a mystical and sexy aura. Pistol Daisys also brings sensuality, adding a certain groove and plenty of attitude to mend heartbreak with Crying in Marseille. More on the pessimistic side, we then have Lucifers Beard with Desolation. The band’s epic sense of atmosphere builds tension, creating an intense experience.

Optimism takes shape in a dreamy, hazy setting while still being saturated. Enters A Dreamer’s Dream by Blue Foundation. A hint of melancholy lingers, echoing the mood of Settembre, the new single by Ada Oda. It’s a track released just as the band announced the sad news: their main vocalist Victoria is leaving the band… We continue with heartfelt intimacy – folk music with emotions laid bare, heart on the sleeve, as JJH Potter presents Goodbye Love, a preview of his very promising upcoming album. Equally full of promise for his future, POL is the one wrapping up the playlist this week with a similar yet radiant melancholy on the track I Miss You.
