The playlist of the week is quite the mood! We share wounds, desires, fears, and dark emotions and it quickly escalates. Ready?
Threat and promise, Janita opens the playlist of the week with the dark and sensual I Want You I Warn You. Her aura is as deep and unsettling as it is captivating! In a similar rhythm, both tranquil and gripping, there is Vanishing Point by Midnight Kiss. Very introspective, the track sets a spiral of questions, striking the perfect balance between its verses and more vivid, bright choruses—like a silver lining in the night. Speaking of night, Bino Bames takes us even deeper into the darkness and leaves us dizzy with the sublime Cocktail Princess. Not far from there, we find EKKSTACY with a preview from his upcoming album, the electric, personal, and emotional forever. Its energy and textures contrast to create this unique and intoxicating atmosphere.
What if we added a bit of humour to our melancholy? Or not. Copycat comes in full force with a mental and physical check-in in the catchy oulala. It’s one of my big favourites of the week. A must-listen! Duckwrth offers a solution for those moments when you’re not feeling great with Hurricane J.I.M. The track evolves from calm to a storm that sweeps everything in its path with precision and thrill. Need to hit rock bottom to find ultimate catharsis? Fine. Longshots takes us deep into The Well with a harmonious metal track that leaves no room for doubt. Here, our demons have their own soundtrack with the sublime Aimless by Calva Louise. Precise guitars, explosive drums, deep bass, and vocals between heaven and hell… it’s a banger!
And because we can also have a bit of a metal phase, we continue with a major collaboration. Dead Rabbitts teams up with Escape the Fate and Judge & Jury to deliver T/R/A/P/P/E/D. While it also carries traces of anxiety, it’s also a perfectly cathartic track with beautiful melodic and orchestral arrangements! It’s followed by the radiant and worried INCOMPLETE by coldrain. Like the previous two tracks, the balance between clean and guttural vocals, as well as between shadow and light, is perfect! Miss Velvet decides that enough is enough and brings glamour to the desert with the epic, and more bluesy, Pistols at Dawn. To finish the playlist of the week, we head back to the city with Master Peace and the annoyed and acidic LOS NARCOS. Another big favourite that’s not to be missed!
