PLAYLIST OF THE WEEK 2025 #26

For this new playlist of the week, we’re unmasking and following our hearts with some long-lasting favourites to keep fresh… or warm!

We’re opening on a pop-hardocre revelation, pushing to punk and metal as it revealses a colourful soul. With Funk Me Nice, brokNface is a thrilling unmissable banger, fresh and surprising that will fill up your summer! Following up is Spyair’s new track, Chase the Shine, that shows off as much energy through heavy riffs and a bright pop-electro background. It’s fantastic! Next are THE ORAL CIGARETTES with a new single too, OVERNIGHT, mysterious, well balanced and with a catchy explosive chorus. Speaking of explosions, Danko Jones goes down that route too! The band rolls their riffs on the excellent Everyday Is Saturday Night with a great savoir-faire that doesn’t need to be proven anymore!

The Hives have a new single for their upcoming record, so I can’t resist! Legalize Living might be a tad softer than the previous ones, but its tone is as biting as them! The police sirens could continue ringing on the next song. We’re escaping with Thelma & Louise, the electric pop track by Panic Shack. We love their feminist road-trip vibe! Mrs. Davis by mama no likey follows up with a similar attitude and soul, liberating some female rage in their sharp riffs. With a more classical and nice touches of blues, the new track by Oswald Slain is up next. It’s the superb nostalgia-driven Firing Line and it’s as promising as ever!

The iconic voice of Sheena Ringo grasps us in the next song, the new under experiment. Bright and nourishing her ever-punk soul, the legendary singer brings in some great textures to the mix! up next is Ryokuoushoku Shakai’s newest song, a true bop with a delicate chorus and a cheeky and catchy melody. It’s called illusion, and it’s easy to put on repeat! We keep it fresh next with Wet Leg and a song from their brand-new album, the single mangetout. Again, it’s a greatly textured pop-rock track that has some nostalgia and soul to it. We love! To close our playlist of the week, we do get something even softer, with its heart on its sleeve. Feel, by Hitsujibungaku is dreamlike, optimistic and tender. A wonderful way to conclude the week!
