Careful now, I’m letting loose! That could be Tip Stevens’ new EP Elephant subtext. It’s a heavy in-your-face electro release this time. The kind of mess you don’t want cleaned up.
ELEPHANT – TIP STEVENS
Stomp Me takes it even further, with crushing, powerful, borderline oppressive beats, but most of all, it’s deeply satisfying when played at the right volume. And yes, that volume is 200%. The artist even suggests sticking your head in your speakers. And honestly… you should. Emperor is cut from the same cloth, a shade of mystery, venom, clear-cut influences and absolute madness. Seriously, it’s an electro banger laced with filthy distorted riffs, exactly what we love. And the vocal effects? Pure evil.
Washing Machine is a full cycle on extra spin mode. It hits hard! Does it smell like lavender at the end? Honestly, maybe. To close it all, we stay deep and heavy, but also fun, with Encore. The contrast between the production and the vocals is sublime and will no doubt hit the mark on stage at the Olympia in November. Elephant is the fourth and penultimate EP of the year from Tip Stevens, and once again, it’s a true success in its genre, showcasing a rare kind of creative versatility! Catch-up with him this weekend during the ZEvent!
