With Parasites & Butterflies, Nova Twins confirm they are essentials of today’s rock scene. Even though, deep down, we never really had much doubt.
PARASITES & BUTTERFLIES – NOVA TWINS
Nova Twins tear through everything in their path and have no intention of slowing down, as proven by their third album Parasites & Butterflies. What we get is a tale of duality in spirit, aesthetics, and style, both clear and striking. In just over thirty minutes, a multitude of worlds clash, blend, and respond to each other with precision. Some riffs could melt even the toughest metals, while certain vocals sound like true siren songs. It’s Glory that kicks things off: epic, sharp, and dazzling, plunging us straight into the band’s increasingly refined, yet always raw, aesthetic. When Nova Twins come knocking, it’s impossible to resist their energy.
Piranha is next on the list. And yes, it’s got quite the bite. The threat is sharp and palpable, a powerful, political, and irresistible message of rebellion. They may show a bit of vulnerability on Monsters, but that quickly shifts with Soprano. Dominant right to their fingertips, in both their lyrics and riffs, they follow up with the ultra-sexy Drip and the assertive banger N.O.V.A. Their identities, their personalities, their human contradictions, they turn it all into strength.
Between electro and metal, the dreamlike becomes a nightmare and vice versa with Sandman, before the softer Hummingbird, where the duo explores solitude, depression, and hope. Parallel Universe brings back a sharper energy, though still dark, anti-haters, followed by the equally catchy Hide & Seek. Hurricane reaffirms their power, their stage presence, their incredible charisma, even in studio. It’s a real favourite! To close Parasites & Butterflies, Nova Twins deliver yet another pure banger with Black Roses. They reign supreme over the new rock scene thanks to their fully embraced, multifaceted identity. An absolute triumph!

Love the songs but the oversaturation on everything makes it nearly unlistenable.
