We can see the light at the end of the tunnel of this long week, and our playlist is here to bring color, music, and emotion to it all!
This week, the playlist kicks off with a major favorite. Boko Yout has just unveiled his new album, with the standout track GUSTO, an unmissable whirlwind of colour and energy. We dive in headfirst with pleasure! NASTYJOE follows with a party full of vintage vibes in Worried For You. Stunning textures and a fascinating atmosphere earn high marks! Human Missile Crisis keeps our walls vibrating with sharp yet light sounds in Snake In The Grass, which hooks you right away. Then, PABST teams up with Blush Always on the saturated and lively twenty three. It shakes us with joy and optimism, without completely dousing the embers of our anxieties. We love it!
Beau Anderson brings a strong contrast with a seductive tone, catchy melody, and deep guitar riffs. That gives us Know by Now, and it’s another favorite, of course! Effective rock is also what Cosmic Madness delivers with Domain Change, featuring addictive progression, explosive riffs, and an impressive solo. A great track to discover the band’s world! Citizen Rat & Polly Cooke follow with the excellent FRY. This collaboration boldly blends genres with flawless flow before launching into an epic chorus. A perfect score that passes the baton to Tablefox. They’re back with Runaway, blazing hot, with shimmering touches of softness in their sound.
As often, softness settles in more deeply toward the end of our playlist of the week. Wax Jaw brings it out through the nostalgia of Looking Back, and even in the last third of the track, more direct, more punk, that tenderness is still there. For Hélène Barbier, it’s through Lapin that it shines, with sharp pop electric guitar and dreamy vocals. For better joy, it’s a story of vulnerability and recovery that resonates with luminous guitars and a captivating voice on steamroller. And for Orangepit!, it’s a matter of peace, beautifully expressed in Olive Tree, both heartbreaking and full of hope, addressing the genocide in Palestine and our connection to it. A stunning conclusion.
