Our flash reviews are back! It is now time to get some great tracks in your ears with some more-or-less new releases by artists with some guts that you should definitely keep an eye or two on… if it’s not already the case, that is.
BOOMBAP FOR BOOMERS – LEWCA

Let’s be very honest here: adulting is a fucking pain sometimes – and everybody has experienced that to some degree. But the hardest thing, that shouldn’t happen really happen, is to have your youth’s playfulness leave you. And Lewca doges that mistake easily in his punk-like-built new album. Only a couple of seconds on All Grown Up or the reggae-inspired Monday Morning convince us of that fact. But it is Peace of Mind that really resonates for us, through its raw rock vibes. The crazy Boombap For Boomers, giving its name to the whole record, carries that too. So, although Boombap For Boomers has many and no labels on it, it has an attitude we adore.

VENDETTA – BRUNE

With guitars as sharp as her voice, and some almost angry, frank, and acute, Brune is turning on the light and breaks free. Her new EP couldn’t start in a better way with the boiling C’est tous les jours. From there, we’re under a spell. In French throughout the record, with a foot on the guitar’s pedal, Brune rises watts and temperature in a club-rock atmosphere that could leave many of her masculine and English-speaking peers behind. À l’abri is a sweet treat of closure, enhancing the whole spice of this fantastic EP, Vendetta. With it, Brune signs a strong return on stage and a powerful record. Clearly, it ought not to be missed.

PEOPLE LIKE ME & YOU – THE SHERLOCKS

Everything changes, and we can’t do anything about it. But it doesn’t mean it has to be morose each time. With Remember All The Girls, opening this new album, The Sherlocks are injecting a steep amount of delight and hope into change. People Like Me & You has, indeed, a solid start, with a fantastic emotional balance. Strong in its riffs, there are delicate undertones thorough. People Like Me & You is close to its fans, the band, and anybody who can identify with the catchy and captivating rhythms of its songs. Louder Than Words, and its solo extraordinaire, and the quieter Face the Music are wonderful examples of it. And as their last track, Watson, carries something odder, we feel that what’s next could really take us aback.
