FLASH: DARK AND STORMY – DEER PARK AVENUE

Deer Park Avenue are signing Dark and Stormy, a great rock EP with a dash of electro that will convince fans of beautiful riffs. Review.

DARK AND STORMY – DEER PARK AVENUE

The first note bursts in, bright in the air, and really contrasts with the lyrics. Dark and Stormy Night is indeed sombre and subtly brilliant at the same time. Captains of their ship, the two sisters forming Deer Park Avenue are leading their crew towards new horizons, facing the storm with a smile. Darkness Hides Me possesses this optimistic strength too, but for a composition that is a tad more obscure register in the composition. The acoustic guitar and the synths form a disturbing and balanced folk-rock work.

When I jump into Buried, I find a new layer. It is as if the storm had completely swallowed me, everything seems heavier and troubling. The bass highlights this atmosphere, and the vocals, although high, really convey the feeling wonderfully. And Cave has the same start. On the chorus, though, the guitars get to boiling point and hope shines away. Catchy in the riffs and keyboards alike, I am certain it has a huge live potential.

For the same reasons, Shut Me Out and Strut are two tracts to keep in mind. The first one is a punch in the guts, and the second, featuring Gregg Bissonette, has a sexy vibe to it. And both are already rock classics for me, to spin without moderation. Dark and Stormy ends with a radio version of Darkness Hides Me, as efficient as its previous version. Deer Park Avenue is really a band to count on in the future.
