Vulnerable album first built in solitude, Limandi releases FUCK.IT. the first stone of her personal hyperpop. Review.
FUCK.IT. – LIMANDI
I have no doubt about it, Limandi belongs to the pop stage. More specifically, the hyperpop one. But she also belongs to the contemplative folk stage, too. Clever, the singer-songwriter gets those two worlds, and many more, together and forms a third: hers. Exploring romantic themes, and getting into heartbreak, Limandi transforms these introspective snaps into self-love. Sincere and delicate, it is, for me, a perfect album to listen to whilst watching a pouring rain, snowfall, or thunderstorm. It says it’ll pass.
First, because One Day I’ll Be Proud is an incredible introduction, captivating, and then because FUCK.IT. is a cocoon. Its production highlights every line coming from Limandi’s voice. But the artist doesn’t stop there and pushes the walls further on How Fucking Hard. Marked beats, intricate bridge, and here comes the chorus, tuneful and fluid. The vocals are another instrument that gets worked on, adding a beautiful texture to the track and showcasing how great it is without any filter too.
Speaking of which, Limandi is pretty much au naturel, and loves a no-filter result. It’s her vulnerability she plays here, along with the music. I get another beautiful example through the sober Put The Blame On Me, and on Hopin’ You’ll Be Fine. As for Family, it’s a touching and piercing song. Where her deliciously raspy vocals are the clearest, she speeds up and plays with Where You’re Heading. Through FUCK.IT. Limandi goes from solitude to resilience, from pain to achievement. It’s a fantastic and promising debut.
Now Playing: FUCK.IT.
