You should put Joker’s Hand on your radar now, and the best way to do it is Pride Before The Panic. Review of their new fast-paced and banging EP.
PRIDE BEFORE THE PANIC – JOKER’S HAND
Cleverly creating a fusion between metal, punk, alternative rock, and hip-hop, the band composes something as impressive as it is new. Break The Simulation is another great example of this. The track grabs by the throat and never releases the pressure. Peace of Mind is also excellent as it comes up with massive bass lines and sharp riffs that I adore. It has a classic allure too. Apparition turns more distinctly towards the punk scene. A real storm of the genre that you can’t miss.
As a closing bit, the EP gets IDFWU – a track at first pretty calm, with pop hints, but that is actually as raging as the others. Kevin Kawano and Matt Lau, the two members of Joker’s Hand, really created an EP made for stage with Pride Before The Panic. Playing it simply comforts me with the idea that the duet really can get wild as they drive their audience crazy. Hard not to want more after such a rock tornado. Can’t wait for what’s next!
