It’s Friday, do you know what it means? Yaaay, it’s the playlist of the week! Some new tracks and other unmissable ones, jump in!
What If ? by Alex Sandra is gripping, vibrant. Really, the playlist this week starts with a band, and it won’t stop there. Epic is the first word that comes to mind when I listen to Show Me Love by Days Like These, thanks to its intense guitars and metal-tunes drums. Speaking of intense… Do you need to cry, ugly cry even, until exhaustion? Then, ideally, you’d need some 80s-infused electro-pop bop for that. Great, here’s Crying In The Carwash by ARXX. If some tears stick around, Tera Lynne Fister will be able to soothe them over with her breaking-up song, the delicate You Left Me (Crying).
Today is the Day will also bring some peace, in its own way. There, Still Corners and their subtle and known folk-rock get contemplative and cinematographic. For the Hollywood side of it, it’ll be up to Linn Holmes’ warm voice to step on stage. She proposes Cut Me and reveals all of her irresistible elegance here. Now, let’s change the amps, keeping the pop vibe, and Personal Trainer goes on with Intangible. Next, By The Waves brings a bit of sunshine on the bright and upbeat sound of a song with a dark name, Vampires. Pretty cool to wander around.
Infused with more classic notes, the intriguing Tailor Man by Veys walks out of the shadows. And these shadows are also the perfect setting for Forever Free by Gathering Stripes, even with its explosive chorus. The round basses and catchy lyrics of Brújulas by Una Noche en Bogotá are the link between heavy rock and vintage synth-pop. It fits in nicely and is followed by the vintage vibrations bathing in powerful rock of Oli Barton with his new single, The Light. And it’s my favourite this week, which makes it the perfect banger to close this playlist.
