Spelim is about to unveil In Art We Trust, a radiant debut album with a perfect balance, blending multiple styles. Review.
IN ART WE TRUST – SPELIM
It’s also because of his ability to slow things down even further. Good vibes only truly work when we embrace our darker sides, our wounds. That’s where SO FAR comes in – a touching track with a vibrant production. He then shifts to the lighter and more optimistic GROOVE YOUR BODY, though its flow is almost harsh, followed by the aptly named DREAM POP. Spelim does not shy away from addressing societal issues either, more directly than in the other tracks, with PIRATE SOCIETY. Yet, once again, he remains unifying and full of hope. Taking a darker turn, with punchy energy and rock-like arrangements, he then moves on to the excellent SPECIAL WAY. What’s most impressive is that the genre transitions and blends happen seamlessly and naturally here.
With DINGDONG, Spelim touches on identity, encouraging everyone to embrace their own – slower, yet again unifying, it carries a magnificent political resonance. And once more, in WE ARE CHILDREN, he evokes our inner child, stirs our compassion, and invites the good vibes to grow in each of us. To close this debut album, he chooses the path of love: love for life with ALIVE, and the love between two people with the mystical and epic TWO SOULS. The masterful balance and blend of genres, solid arrangements, and sincere lyrics… In Art We Trust is a hit signed Spelim. A must-listen!
Spelim will be touring all over France this year. More here.
