A tornado and its three musketeers are causing chaos… It’s Pipi Tornado with SANTA CANTINA – and you need to hear this now! Review.
SANTA CANTINA – PIPI TORNADO
With WHISKEY SOUND, they dive into a hardcore foundation paired with a pub-rock chorus with Irish hints – festive, punchy, and full of life. The band’s sense of humour is obvious, but they’re also capable of more mysterious, serious tones. That mood pulses through the suspenseful PRAYER OF THE SEQUOIA, and gives an extra shine to the breezy rockabilly vibe of UNCLE MYERS. For me, that ability to switch things up while still keeping everything cohesive is a huge strength. Add to that sharp production and clear technical skills – and it’s very good news for what’s next for this band.
Pipi Tornado closes SANTA CANTINA with a truly epic final track. MOUNI MOUNI brings a mystical atmosphere, heavy riffs, and a clear, expressive vocal line that sends chills down your spine. Like a chiaroscuro painting, it completely drew me in. Another favourite, and a stunning conclusion to the EP. At once tender and violent, Pipi Tornado’s rock is something you need to discover, urgently!
