A spine-tingling playlist of the week, that’s what we’ve got planned for today. Not exactly a Halloween special, but pretty close!
We’re kicking off the playlist of the week with a track that’s both brutal and radiant. Coldrain delivers something truly heavy with FREE FALL, striking a perfect balance between guttural sections and clean vocals. It gives you chills! Following them, BURNER PHONE by cleopatrick. Saturated textures, winding progression, their punk-infused alt rock creates a hypnotic, mysterious atmosphere. Next, we’re heading to the desert with the legendary Des Rocs, who recently unveiled This Land for the game Borderlands 4. Blending classic and modern stoner tones, the sound is nothing short of epic! It’s followed by the lively Around The Wrekin from Fitzroy Holt, once again drawing on classic and desert inspirations. It flows effortlessly and is absolutely addictive!
Strayers remind us that giving yourself a break isn’t such a bad idea sometimes, with the vibrant ONLY HUMAN. A very promising track! Then comes Esther, equally full of promise, with So High. Sharp textures over an almost calm melody, the song has a deeply dark side, exploring the feeling of drifting within a system stronger than ourselves. Circa Waves follow with Lost In The Fire. That sense of drifting remains, and we keep dancing with it, this time, to warmer tones. We then glide naturally into something more pop with Keegan Powell and his track Drown. Danceable and radiant, yet the lyrics explore deep introspective themes, where shame and fear intertwine. Another kind of thrill.
The heavy guitars rise from the earth once more with Power of This Song by Dirty Sound Magnet. Tales of the undead and pacts with the devil set the tone for this epic soundtrack! The Guilteens cast their own spells with the mystical and mysterious Further Down The Channel. The atmosphere is absolutely chilling, I love it! Drawn into a new universe, we accept our fate. Then comes Fix Me by Sohodolls. The energy shifts, but the flow remains enchanting! Like a dessert at the end of a meal, we treat ourselves to a sweet finale with natori and the stunning What is ahead of the tunnel? It closes the playlist of the week with a blazing and much-welcomed energy.
