SUGAR & JOY – THE DEAD SOUTH

The Dead South’s new album, Sugar & Joy, is, as expected, a true jewel. Flash.

If their South was a bottle, it’d be a glass bottle containing a strong at-least-fifteen years of age whisky. With this new album, The Dead South has the smell of grounded soil, still stuck underneath their boots, as they walk on stage, a banjo on the side, and a lot to offer in their heads. The South has nothing to envy to the West. The whole is catchy as the album gets an anxious turn (Spaghetti), a sombre one (Diamond Ring) or a joyful one (Blue Trash), as it stays always passionate. A real treat.
