Like every Friday, it’s a small holiday season at the end of the week for any curious music fan. Today’s no exception as three magnificently shaped albums show up on our doorstep.
HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND YET? – FANTASTIC NEGRITO
We can’t deny it, Fantastic Negrito is probably one of our biggest musical crush of the year. His music, between rock and gospel, calls on everyone’s spirit and humanity. In each note of his new album Have You Lost Your Mind Yet? are layered many messages for justice, fundamental civic rights, equality… And with shamanic strength, Fantastic Negrito gets out great tunes, slowly growing with well-thought guitar riffs and solos. A pure jewel that we long left behind any time soon.

OPEN UP YOUR HEAD – SEA GIRLS
Band Sea Girls is settling seriously in the musical landscape. With their debut album Open Up Your Head, the London band is on attack mode. But the attack is actually romantic, tender and clearly dyed in alt-rock. Nothing to fear, just some good tunes to enjoy that carry with them modernity as they assume their references. We’d like more but this album marks the beginning, the line can still move as long as they’re having fun and that’s the most important thing they’re doing. Pop-rock with dots of synths, they know what they’re doing.

EDDIE – BUSTY AND THE BASS
When Busty and The Bass starts to play, the party’s on its way. Their new album, Eddie, is a succession of unbelievably funky bass lines and sensual R’n’B atmospheres. From one side or the other, we get what we want. Sober or explosive, everything can turn around in less than a split second as the excellent Baggy Eyed Dropman featuring George Clinton is showing us. The 70s are getting us in the corner of a song sometimes, and yet we know the whole thing is from 2020. Timeless and marked by history, the album has traces of its time. To discover now.
