The rock is raining upon us. We couldn’t dream of anything else for the end of our week and this New Music Friday. Flashes.
IN A BOX – KID DAD
Full of crazy buzzing energy, In A Box, German band KID DAD’s debut album has a lot to offer. The way tracks are following one another is fine and emotional. Inspired by an inside world, rich and effervescent, our favourites are highlighted and obvious. Between the catchy and ravishing Happy, the fairytale-like and worrying (I Wish I Was) On Fire, guitars are carrying us with no difficulties. The band doesn’t want to impose any labels on themselves, and we get it. There’s so much more than rock in this opus. Just released, fresh out of the press, it’s has found its rightful place in our repertoire.

GOOD LUCK, SEEKER – THE WATERBOYS
British band, created and lead by Mike Scott, The Waterboys, is unveiling its new album Good Luck, Seeker this Friday. The least we can say is that nostalgia is one of the main taste we get from it. Blues or rock, Scott wanders towards pop and R’n’B ((You’ve Got to) Kiss a Frog or Two) whilst keeping an essential element to his music. The best tracks are indeed the one bearing this classic 80s aura. This small time travel, which has a deluxe edition great for the fans of instrumental versions, is enjoyable without sparkling any new favourite.

IMPLODING THE MIRAGE – THE KILLERS
It would have been quite an adventure to wait and listen to Imploding The Mirage, The Killers’ new album. Was it worth it? Well, we can say that The Killers are giving us what they do best. Pop-rock music with some folk accent, sometimes going towards country music and sometimes turning to disco. Less vigorous than they have been before, they got us used to their soft side. Not without flaws, the result is still very convincing and we are rather fond of their good sound on soft Blowback, catchy and dancy Caution and lyrical My God, featuring Weyes Blood.
