What a week! We got treats upon treats and we can assure you our dancefloor playlist is filling up with rock music. We’re already warming up for the next mosh-pit we’ll see! Flashes.
BACK IN LOVE CITY – THE VACCINES
With a love letter addressed to the States (Back In love City, Heart Land, El Paso), the British band The Vaccines fires us up with some catchy riffs. Their new album, Back In Love City, proposes a cure to the reigning fatigue that the pandemic is imposing on us, still. If some tracks are calming us down by the end of the record, Peoples’ Republic Of Desire and Headphones Baby that are winning us over. Impossible to stay put when we get to those thrilling chords and catchy choruses. We’ll definitely put it on repeat for some days. An essential!

COMFORT TO ME – AMYL AND THE SNIFFERS
The club’s walls smell like sticky beer, and on stage Amyl and The Sniffers are giving it their all. Expect that it’s not a club, it’s a garage. Well, it’s not a garage, it’s our living room. The strength of their new album Comfort To Me is that they’re bringing live energy inside our home. We’re on it, in technicolour and in hardcore mode. The tracks are short but invite us to let our inner world shine (Freaks to the Front, Maggot). Hertz is our favourite here, with its free spirit, and Choices resonates like the ultimate feminist hymn. It talks to us.

PARALLEL TIMELINE – SLOTHRUST
Slothrust’s new record, Parallel Timeline, is a virtuoso journey that, from garage rock, evolves to pop music with both ease and great logic. Cranium is a dark softness that grasps us completely. Once More For The Ocean and The Next Curse’s tough riffs are a punch in the throat. Then, slowly, we’re sliding towards radio-able melodies, vaporous, chill and sometimes a touch epic too. We let Leah Wellbaum lead the way with her vocals and guitar happily. She gets us into her mind where rainbows and moths are creating together, or at least create what inspire her. Superb.
