And here we are, at the end of those (long) holidays. So, it’s the return of the playlist of the week in its classic format. Ready?
We start the playlist of the week with Icarus Phoenix and their track Homeostasis, full of joyful melancholy. Its opening line brings a smile, and its atmosphere recalls the comfort of home. Its folk touch makes it the perfect beginning for this week’s playlist. JJH Potter follows, also with a very gentle folk atmosphere. He’s extending the mood with Someone else’s book. Next, a little pop infusion with the extraordinary voice of Veronica D’Souza in Peaches in My Halo. It’s like sunshine in musical form, with a lingering softness! And King Gnu isn’t here to break the spell with the superbly pop NEKKO.
Now, imagine you’ve got two music projects and two catchy singles? I couldn’t ignore KIZAO, where MILLENNIUM PARADE collaborates with the incredible Rauw Alejandro and Tainy. This addictive reggaeton, part Puerto Rican, part Japanese, will be with me for a while, especially with such a polished music video! But let’s get back to the guitars. The Blue Stones are in their element with their deep riffs on Your Master. The sharp riffs of Something Ain’t Right by Cat 22 are also quite captivating. Clearly, we won’t have any trouble keeping these in mind. First of All by 111 also makes a strong impression, though a bit short. And then, it’s the return of feminine rage on the blog!
Pied de poule by DVTR follows, always with their unique and edgy style. Half-punk, half-electro, half-undefinable—yes, three halves. Next, we’ve got heavy guitars again with Lambrini Girls and their Big Dick Energy. This band definitely knows their craft! Right behind them is Chloe Star with the sexy, confident, and equally biting FMIF. Watch out, she’s about to make waves! And waves, Mr. President might cause some too… and Comic Sans thinks about it. As I’m writing this playlist of the week, the outcome is still unknown… But there’s always someone for whom these lyrics will fit, trust me.
