It is with a great deal of humour that Twat Union presents their punk manifesto in the form of an EP, Don’t Look It In The Eye. Review.
DON’T LOOK IT IN THE EYE – TWAT UNION
Twat Union
But they go further with Red Flags. There’s always a dose of sarcasm in their attitude, which is honestly very effective, especially when paired with powerful riffs and explosive choruses. More than just sarcasm, Twat Union uses these phrases, dangerous for gender equality, to better highlight the absurdity of their meaning. It’s serious, but not too much, and they strike a good balance. The topic then shifts to the dangers posed by women’s breasts with the ironically titled Danger Boob. Again, the tone shifts are clear, and it’s easy to tell when they’re mocking and when the subject matter becomes more important. They go all out to provoke thought.
The subject then drops to a more below-the-belt topic – but not for the reason you might think. They tackle STIs with UTI. And once again, the chorus is far too effective for the subject matter – that’s what makes it work. It’s fun, cheeky, over-the-top, punk, and provocative. In other words, how could you not want more from this British band? Twat Union are more than convincing with the tales on Don’t Look It In The Eye. Can’t wait to see what other stories they can bring to the table, with energy, grit, and humour!
