The Strumbellas released their fourth studio album, Rattlesnake, at the end of March. This is our Flash review.
The Canadians of The Strumbellas had seduced us with Hope, a fresh, rich and colourful album. This new opus is a logical sequel that we don’t dislike but that seems a little quieter. The colours are still vivid on songs like Salvation, I’ll Wait, and Running Scared (Desert Song), and more diffuse on We All Need Someone, The Party or All My Life. These two halves of the album are complementing each other with tones and are never contradicting each other with terms. Rather homogeneous, Rattlesnake is a confirmation of their folk-pop-choral style and another good excuse to go see them live.
