Fleabag’s a fascinating character, and the series and play’s success are international. The universality of the role created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge has inspired us to create a playlist around the character, its story and traits.
Fleabag is a young woman in the middle of the gigantic city of London, both a bit lost and chaotic, as a mirror for each other, and we follow her through all her issues, from money to business, to mental health, family, and of course, love.
One adventure after the other, one-night stand or more, they all feel very authentic and are filled with dashing subversive humour. And whatever the format is, it really gets us to the core.
First staged at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the monologue was addressing the audience. In the series, the author and actor has brilliantly kept this principle with piercing looks to the camera. And this element is addressed in the second season of the show with the character of the Priest, very similar to Fleabag in many ways.
Our playlist follows the play and two seasons of the show narrative and the ups and downs known to Fleabag in the life she, sometimes, allow us to see or even only catch a glimpse of.
