At Unis Son, we hope that the Summer solstice will be great and will heal everything caused by these latest weeks’ gloomy news. And hopefully, the playlist of the week will help!
The unmissable Oli Barton is back with You Just Played My Mind. His riffs have the perfect attack to highlight brilliantly his sincere, bitter yet loving lyrics. On (gore) images that will please many anime lovers, Love Ghost joins forces with Adhara and Helian Evans for the burning Throw Down. Result: another pop-punk track with hints of hardcore that nails it! Pride by Wirefall has a similar energy, leaning towards metal and electro pretty efficiently. Motivating and epic, it’s an anthem that will spark your fighting spirit! Vultures by Pollyanna Blues keeps that ball rolling with their punk vibes and incredibly clear vocals. Of course, with so much rage, it’s an immediate addition to my list of favourites!
Spending that much energy can be incredibly tiring, so saying that we Don’t Wanna Get Out of Bed like STELL is expected. Yet, the artist doesn’t lack energy at all here, with some strong 90s riffs. Then, the night warms up with Eres Lo Que Quiero by Rodeo Manhattan and their pop-blues tinted lines that ought not to be missed! Next, it’s time to ask ourselves some questions – it’s up to Guillaume Muller to do so through the classic rock Qu’est-ce qu’on fout là – really relatable. Especially right now. Victoria Gwendoline is then charged to calm our minds (as much as she can). And she does it with Astral Mall, which progressively gets more passionate. Superb!
Una Noche en Bogotá is back with Lugar, another tender yet passionate rock song. It’s that blend that creates its unforgettable chorus! Then, Mindless Apparition summons some kind spirits thanks to the wild Hide and Shine. Unstoppable! And we should not show more resistance when facing the wave Gia Ford creates with Paint Me Like a Woman, an extract from her upcoming album. Lastly, the playlist of the week comes crashing down on the shore to the sound of the intriguing and memorable Nickels and Dimes by We Ghosts. Why should we choose between love and ghost stories when they become so harmonious?
