The blog is almost going on holiday! But before that, it’s time for the traditional playlist of the week!
This is just the kind of track I love. A raspy voice, a strong opening, a biting edge, and a deep bass… Irrational by Dewy Pines really hits the mark! Naturally, it’s the starter for this week’s playlist, followed by the pop-rock directness of Cxpital with All The Time. Fencer takes on the role of the magician next with the very effective All I Do, which we could listen to over and over again. Issy Sutcliffe isn’t far behind with the very promising Community Guidelines, which rumbles nicely in the lower ranges and hypnotizes with its vocals.
Next up, Hell of a Mind shows off with the epic Lizard. The tone is deep, vibrant, and full of rich textures. And then, a shift. We switch to a lighter, more folk-influenced tone, discovering Callum Gibson with his new track Firefight. He’s followed by the captivating, vintage vibes of Karaboudjan’s Revendeur d’écume. With such precise flow and melody, it’s hard to resist! We stay on the dancefloor with Talk from New York’s Smoke Break and their energetic pop-rock. There’s everything you need to awaken a touch of nostalgia, too.
We then slide effortlessly into the world of Alicia Glass with Burrito. She offers up beautiful riffs, raw emotion, and a sublime, raging progression! It’s also looking promising for Canella, who infuses a bit more melancholy into their chords with strong attacks on Cookie Sweet. Short but effective, this track then gives way to so unique by Tikhet, with familiar riffs, a smooth bass, and captivating vocals. Finally, we end this week’s playlist on a high note with Wholesome. Their Ticket to Tokyo, we’re taking it. And quite literally, as we’re off on Monday. If Unis Son is going on holiday, don’t worry, there will still be plenty of little things to come on the blog!
