And we’re back this week with a new playlist full of great distortion, philosophy and love! Let’s do this!
What a joy to hear from SPRINTS! They’re on the playlist this week with a new single, Descartes, where philosophy meets raging riffs and wild energy. No doubt, this is a pure banger and a favourite of mine! And we’re far from being done! Cutthroat by shame is a hit thanks to its poppy chorus, vibrating riffs and free spirit. Following up is the excellent Skinbag by VERA. Its punk heart and its thrilling progression got me from the first spin. It is, therefore, an unmissable this week! CARSICK keeps us in the mosh pit with their frank riffs and melody in Backseat. A touch of pop makes the whole thing particularly enjoyable and catchy too.
In a darker style, This Will Destroy Your Ears tries to hold up to their name through Gorgeous Eve Holds A Banger Hammer. And they succeed as they throw a fascinating narration and powerful guitar lines our way! Bottle Next is up next with Scorn, for our weekly dose of metal, and a perfectly intriguing atmosphere. Following them are Noroy and Paul Ivory, collaborating on a round and blues inspired heavy rock track. It’s Hell and it’s hella addictive! In a more classic style, poetic and raw, here comes Wunderhorse with their new track The Rope, made of hope and willpower.
With a pretty similar distortion, Peter Landi evades in natures through the anthem he named Dandelion, touching on psyche vibes. It’s immediately captivating thanks to its nostalgic air. NASTYJOE also has loads of nostalgia to share with Strange Place, a musical translation of the bright and grainy photos of past summers. For Roseland, it’s in her keyboard that melancholy is found, along unconditional maternal love. The result is the lovely Devotion song. Lastly, the playlist this week ends with Marlene Larsen who takes back the control on her anxiety, her wants and true feelings with Actually. Another one to listen to on repeat!
