The best thing about a music blog is for me to discover new artists with something to say and who deserve so much attention from us. Here are three of them as flashes.
LA MÉTAMORPHOSE – JULIE LALLEMENT
Julie Lallement’s EP, La Métamorphose, available since April 24th, is a small corner of tender and openminded music that proposes to add some colours to our cities and lives. With themes like nature and femininity, Julie Lallement tells universal stories, feelings, wishes, dreams and moments of thinking on the outside and inside worlds. This first EP is a relaxed and simple invitation to think. Everything is soothing, thoughtful and full of sincerity. We just need to listen to Féminité to feel it. Ideal during the current times.
HATCHING UNDER THE STARS – CLARA ENGEL
It is in April that Clara Engel as also released her new album, Hatching Under The Stars. Very delicate, this album is timeless and will always belong to a large music horizon. Engel experiments and puts her notes little by little with great savoir-faire. Her voice catches our attention straight away on To Keep the Ghost at Bay. In this folk universe, the artist adds gothic touches without wishing to scare us. On the contrary, she becomes even more fascinating. A beautiful surprise.
MORNING MATTERS – YAZMIN LACEY
We’re new to Nottingham-based singer Yazmin Lacey’s universe, and we discover it through her new EP Morning Matters. Unknown to our ears until today, luck has put her on our way and did well as Lacey’s voice is unique, warm and enchanting. It would have been a real shame to miss it. Sensual and independent, Yazmin Lacey sings a modern and enriched soul without overthinking it. Simple, generous, sincere and elevated, she seems to act like the light of a spring morning. We just need to listen to Morning Sunrise to get and feel it. Superb EP to discover now.
